Meditation The Real Deal Y’all

2020 has clearly taken all the awards for being the most shittiest year in the history of time( I mean surely not as bad as the world wars or the Nazi rule, but it has clearly vexed us up good). I mean I could have easily flouted the“lockdown” but the virus is something seriously effed up and I was genuinely scared of the idea of catching it. Within the first month of the lockdown I was down with anxiety, stress , impatience and fell prey to lassitude. I was stuck in a vicious , never ending, cycle of Netflix , Call OF Duty, PS and unfortunately dull food. Though all of this seemed like “the ideal life” but for me my anxiousness just grew bigger day by day

I felt like I was depressed and seriously started considering online therapy, but just the very same day , in my youtube feed I found this channel. The youtuber beautifully talked about how meditation gave him the inner peace and satisfaction he had longed for his entire life. , the idea of meditation wasn’t really the ideal thing I'd like to get into ( I mean come on guys I’m 17 what do you expect??) but neither the idea of getting therapy really attracted me. So I started my journey the very same day and… Guys it's been 3 months into my journey and it has worked miracuously for me. I am actually motivated to work , I utilize my time to the fullest and all of this does not feel like a friggin overload or something. I have a schedule and for the first time I’m actually motivated to get all that work done without procrastinating. I'm no more anxious and moreover I have a desire to utilize my time for something productive, rather than just lying down indolently and watching Netflix all day long I’m actually getting some productivity from my quarantine. A time where lethargy could have taken over me mediation came to my rescue.

The entire experience in my opinion has been amazing and it is something I’m very likely to continue beyond the lockdown period. The experience is kinda addicting and I really don’t want to give up this amazing feeling you get after meditating and the best is I just do it for 15-20 minutes and am amazed to see such drastic changes in my capacity to do work without cribbing at all. So yeah, overall it's been great meditating and even though it's something you guys wouldn’t consider very “teenage-y” or “cool”, it's an experience worth trying .
